It was, after all was said and done, awesome.
The book was very well received. The people asked relevant questions and opened a dialogue. To put it into perspective, it was the Independent book forum, and to our surprise, most of the 100 places in the audience were full.
In addition, the right-wing government of EPN( Enrique Peña Nieto actual President) recently treat to cut the cultural budget for the country and has been going in a very backwards way of thinking; what it looks like is that they think if the Mexican people don’t have access to the culture and the education it could be easier manipulate them.
But even in these circumstances, our Mexican creativity and the initiative of this generation were a great influence on the book fair. I was fortunate enough to be in touch with a really great high quality project called “Crisálida”, who have created a horror, fantasy magazine with self-published stories that are complimented by great illustrations at a good price. They are at the same time the co-founders of the cultural market in the metro Popotla and offer a place with an open-mic and encourage people to feel free to express themselves, to tell a tale, a poem.
The other project that really attracted me for the quality of the writing was “ The Bastards of the Grape” who make a quarterly magazine with high quality content who publish and edit contemporary literature, talking in reference to the bohemian life, the wine and literature, and who write about what they’re thinking. “We just publish the reject texts and we only accept the literary hyenas. Cheers.” They’re one of one of the best in the book fair.
The Book Fair in the Zócalo (main square) of the city and its historical importance couldn’t be stopped. Now it’s the last lap of this little tour of presentations for “Graveyard Shift and other tales” in OAXACA and in an incredible place, the 31st of October we will have the presentation and the book fair will start here in the city of Oaxaca. I have a good feeling…

Presentación en la Feria del Libro del Zócalo, Ciudad de México
Fue después de todo lo dicho y lo hecho, impresionante. El libro fue muy bien recibido. Las personas hicieron preguntas pertinentes y abrieron un diálogo. Para ponerlo en perspectiva, se realizó en el foro de libro independiente dentro del marco de la Feria del libro, y para nuestra sorpresa, la mayoría de los 100 lugares en el público estaban llenos.
Y a pesar de que el gobierno derechista de EPN (Enrique Peña Nieto Presidente actual ) amenaza con reducir el presupuesto cultural para el país y ha regresado a viejas formas de pensamiento que consideran que si el pueblo mexicano no tiene acceso a la cultura y la educación podría ser más fácil manipularlo.
Pero incluso en estas circunstancias, nuestra creatividad mexicana y la iniciativa de esta generación fueron una gran influencia en la feria del libro. Tuve la suerte de estar en contacto con un gran proyecto de llamado » Crisálida «, que ha creado una revista de horror y fantasía autogestiva que se complementan con ilustraciones excelentes a un buen precio. Ellos son a la vez los co-fundadores del mercado cultural en el metro Popotla y ofrecen un lugar con un micrófono abierto que anima a la gente a sentirse libres de expresarse, para contar un cuento, un poema.
El otro proyecto que realmente me atrajo por la calidad de la escritura era » Los bastardos de la uva» que hacen una revista trimestral con contenidos de alta calidad que publica y edita literatura contemporánea, en referencia a la vida bohemia, el vino y la literatura, escriben sobre lo que en verdad piensan como en su leyenda “Nosotros sólo publicamos textos rechazados, sólo publicamos a hienas literarias. Salud.” Son uno de los mejores proyectos de la feria del libro.
La Feria del Libro en el Zócalo (plaza principal) de la ciudad y su importancia histórica no pudo detenerse, explotó en ideas originales y emergentes de manera afortunada, a pesar de todo.
Este 31 de Octubre en Oaxaca realizaremos la ultima de las presentaciones del libro “Trabajo Nocturno y otros cuentos” en un lugar increíble «El foco Rojo» y la feria del libro comenzará aquí en la ciudad.
